At last there is an Emporium in Poole town centre - and in no less a place than on the Quay in one of the old warehouse buildings.
This is a really exciting development and one that I hope that will help restore some of the vibrancy to Poole Quay that was lost when Poole Pottery relocated away from that area.
The Emporium provides an excellent opportunity for small business owners to rent retail space without having to worry about major overheads that makes having their own shop too expensive.
For me I am delighted to be a part of The Creative Arc which is a collaborative (or collective) of crafters like myself who are working to build a business. We are currently working on our constitution but the principle is we are working together to support each other, each with a different craft, and in doing so we can spread the cost of attending events, setting up exhibitions or anything else we choose to do, as a group which as individuals we would not otherwise be able to do. All the while promoting hand made crafts to the wider world.
The Creative Arc currently has a stall at the Quayside Emporium and Cheery Crafts is a part of that. However there will be a few changes in the next few weeks with our stall which I will update on in due course.
If you are in Poole anytime why not pop down to the Quay, enjoy the stunning harbour and pop into the Emporium and have a browse. There is a real eclectic mix of traders there. Oh ... did I mention the coffee shop and of course cake?!
